Here at AskNina, we’re proud to call Canada home, and it brings us joy to help people find their forever homes in such an amazing country, and more specifically in the GTA. Canada was recently named the 2nd best country in the world (behind Switzerland), based on a variety of metrics including cultural influence, adventure, heritage, entrepreneurship, quality of life and more. Take a look at three of the top reasons why Canada is a great place to live!
1. Outstanding Quality of Life
Quality of life is the standard of health, comfort and happiness experienced by an individual or group. It takes into account everything from food and housing, to education and health care, to job security, individual freedom and environmental quality, and Canada is top of the game. In fact, Canada has just been ranked #1 in the world for providing a good quality of life, for the fifth year in a row by the USA News and World Report, in partnership with BAV Group and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
The ranking is based on nine country attributes that relate to quality of life including factors such as a good job market, family friendliness, political stability, safety, and a well-developed public education system. Many neighbourhoods in Toronto and the GTA specifically, draw people in due to their strong commitment to doing well in these areas. Neighbourhoods such as Downtown Brampton and the Kingsway are known to have an amazing quality of life, not only having important features such as great schools and beautiful homes, but having amazing restaurants, a high safety rate and family-friendly areas that make them feel like home, no matter where you come from.
2. Family Friendly
Whether you have a family of your own already, or are planning to start one in the future, living in a family friendly place is likely high on your list of must-haves. In a survey conducted by Movinga, three Canadian cities ranked among the world’s top 10 most family-friendly cities. Quebec City was ranked the world’s second most family-friendly city, with Calgary ranking in eighth place and Montreal in ninth.
Cities were evaluated on things such as housing affordability, living costs, education, safety, mobility, health care, and other family-centred topics. As for Ontario, cities like Etobicoke and Brampton attract a lot of families due to their incredible real estate opportunities, homes, safety, education, living costs and so much more!
3. Excellent Education
Having a good education system is important for so many reasons. It builds knowledge, perception, social skills, and values that can lead to a happy, successful life. Canada has been named the third best country in the world for education by the US News and World Report in partnership with BAV and Warton.
The education ranking was based on a well-developed education system, if individuals would consider attending university in that country, and if top quality education is provided in that country. Living in a place with a high quality education system is essential for children’s growth, and Canada is clearly a top place to live for good education.
