Niagara on the Lake
Located at the mouth of the Niagara River, just beyond Niagara Falls, the picturesque Niagara on the Lake is known for its incredible wineries, stunning vineyard views, and the annual summer Shaw Festival. The Heritage District, located on Queen Street showcases the town’s history and is known as the go-to shopping area. Often described as the prettiest town in Ontario, Niagara on the Lake is a well-preserved 19th century village, surrounded by wineries that don’t disappoint.
Why We Love It
There are so many reasons to love Niagara on The Lake. With around 90 wineries in the Niagara region, wine lovers can spend the day tasting and enjoying the rolling vineyard views. Each winery is distinctive and their wines boast their own personalities. Whether you’re looking for cozy farmhouse tasting rooms or pretty outdoor vineyard tours, you can find it in Niagara on the Lake. On top of the wineries, there are also amazing restaurants, charming boutiques, ice cream parlours, orchards, breweries and historic bed and breakfasts if you want to stay the night. Prince Edward County
Prince Edward County is a cluster of small hamlets and villages in South Eastern Ontario, and is known for its exciting wine region as well as Sandbanks Provincial Park. Still a relatively young wine region, they have close to 40 wineries with new ones popping up every year. But the wineries are only part of the draw to this amazing region. The small towns of Wellington and Picton offer cute cafes, trendy restaurants and charming shops where you can find everything from artisanal cheese to home decor to antiques and artwork.
Why We Love It
Many wineries in Prince Edward County specialize in Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, so if you’re a fan of these two wines, it’s definitely the place for you. What we love most is that many wineries are doing innovative and unique things with wines like Cabernet Franc, Riesling, Gamay, Pinot Gris, Baco Noir, Merlot and more! It’s the perfect place to try something new while looking out over acres of vineyards. With tasting rooms in rustic old barns and sleek concrete buildings, you’ll find something that suits everyone in your group!
